You’re IT Tom Terrifics Handyman Service!
Three questions with Tom Curran, founder of Tom Terrifics Handyman Service.
Why did you start your business?
I started Tom Terrific’s Handyman Service because I wanted to be closer to our home here in Ridgefield. My wife Chloe and I have 2yr old twins and before the business, I was a construction superintendent in NYC missing so much family time commuting. I’ve been in construction for the last 19 years and I knew that I could use my experience to create a company capable of offering high-quality residential construction services and a good client experience throughout. I think we have been able to achieve that over the last 10 months!
What is your best-selling product/service?
Our best selling service is a kitchen “Re-fresh”! We renovate the kitchen but aim to utilize a lot of the existing cabinets within a kitchen and we custom build what’s needed to make a new functional layout complete. Then we usually paint the old and the new cabinets to make everything look brand new and fresh. Being able to salvage the existing cabinets and doors can save our clients $5,000-$10,000 during the process
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
Being a local small business we try to buy locally whenever possible. For countertops we use Litchfield Hills Marble and Granite they are fantastic! We buy building materials at Ridgefield Supply and Ridgefield Hardware. For special lumber needs, we love Board Silly Custom Sawmill.
HamletHub thanks Fairfield County Bank for making our Why Small Businesses Matter series possible!
